Country Site Selection (CSS) (Technologies: Oracle 12c, Java, TIBCO Spotfire)Database Architect for an application to improve the country and site selection process for trials. This application calculated a score for each country based upon the protocol requirements and historical trends of success for like studies. Based upon the score for a given country the user would create different scenarios and calculate the expected site initiation and patient recruitment completion dates. Responsibilities included creation of database tables, triggers, packages, Spotfire informational links and visual components for displaying countries and site level trends, Erwin logical and physical model, class diagrams (Rational Rose), JUnit test cases, and technical implementation documentation.PROMPT (Technologies: Oracle 12c, Java, JavaScript SPA)Lead developer and Data Architect for an application to calculate actual and forecast project level investigator fees and pass through expenses. This application predicted patient recruitment dates along with visit completion for each patient based on historical trends. Based upon actual and/or forecasted visits the application would report back to our client the expected amount of expenditures for the project lifecycle. Responsibilities included creating POJO’s, data access objects as well as database tables, triggers, packages, Erwin logical and physical model, class diagrams (Rational Rose), JUnit test cases, and technical implementation documentation.

Portal Warehouse (Technologies: Oracle 10gR2, Oracle Transparent Gateway for MS-SQL Server, SSIS, SSAS)Data Architect, Data Warehouse for a project management portal data warehouse. The database design supports some challenging business requirements which included point-in-time, as-of reporting and event-based fact data. The design includes Kimball’s star-schema techniques with a mixture of type one (changed row overwritten) and type two (new surrogate key) updates. The source of the data is a MS-SQL Server accounting system (BST). Most of the data within the BST source system did not track changes and maintain only the most current snapshot of data. The data warehouse process model included daily change detection to populate slowly changing dimensions. In order to populate the data warehouse we use Oracle’s Transparent Gateway for extracting information from MS-SQL Server and seamlessly transforming the data into the data warehouse via Oracle packages and stored procedures. Project Management Portal (Technologies: Oracle 10gR2, Java, .Net)This application used the newly created Project data warehouse and provided metrics on how the project was performing compared to the corporate metric thresholds (i.e. Utilization percentage, gross margin percent). Project Managers also had the option of setting up additional metrics and notifications alerts for their projects.
