Student Financial Services Specialist I
CurrentCurrently work under different position scopes relating to two main categories. - Financial Aid - Providing accurate and professional service to students and others seeking information regarding the College’s financial aid, admissions, registration and enrollment processes. Also provides accurate information to, students and staff related to Federal Pell Grant, Florida Grants and Scholarships, Veterans Programs, Federal Work Study, scholarships, FSEOG, student loans and Federal, State, and College rules and regulations related to financial aid.Work with several required software that is necessary for my working, including FAA access to CPS, Banner, and the NSLDS database. I'm also the one mainly in charge of responding to and keeping in touch with student who email us. More recently, I've been assisting with culling our ISIR files in suspense and resolving issues within that scope.- Bursars -Provides outstanding support to students and staff in a variety of student account functions regarding processing payments, assisting with tuition fees and financial aid adjustments, cash/credit card payments, financial aid, Military Tuition Assistance and Veteran’s BenefitsProvides technical assistance to students, staff, managers and the general public regarding: fee assessment; accounts receivable policies and procedures on payment, billing, refund and collection; general assistance on academics, registration, financial aid disbursement procedures, operational hours, installment plans, 1098T tax forms and College policies.Handles a variety of difficult customer situations using tact, diplomacy and patience, both in person and over the phone. Researches and resolves student issues related to the Student Accounts Services Office. Elevates issues to the supervisor as needed for final resolutionAssesses the student's individual need; provides required forms, advises on required actions, refers to appropriate departments.
