Daniel J. Cobaugh, Pharm.D. FAACT, DABAT is the senior vice president of professional development and publishing at ASHP and editor in chief of AJHP. He also hosts the AJHP Voices podcast. Cobaugh serves as a voice for LGBTQ+ people in pharmacy practice. Cobaugh received his B.S. in Pharmacy degree from the University of Pittsburgh and his Pharm. D. degree from Duquesne University. He completed an ASHP-accredited residency at Mercy Hospital of Pittsburgh and a clinical toxicology fellowship at the Pittsburgh Poison Center and is board certified in clinical toxicology. Cobaugh served as coordinator of the UPMC Toxicology Treatment Program and as director of the Finger Lakes Poison and Drug Information Center in Rochester, NY. He has held faculty appointments at the University of Pittsburgh, University of Rochester, and George Washington University. As an associate director at the American Association of Poison Control Centers, he was responsible for implementation of the nationwide toll-free poison center number. Cobaugh was vice president of the ASHP Foundation where he was responsible for awards, clinical education, research and special programs. Dr. Cobaugh has authored over 60 peer-reviewed publications and numerous book chapters. He has served on boards of directors for the American Board of Applied Toxicology and the American Academy of Clinical Toxicology. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Clinical Toxicology. He has been a consultant to the World Health Organization, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, and the U.S. Department of Transportation. He currently serves on the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy Board of Visitors. Cobaugh was recognized in June 2012 by the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy as a distinguished alumnus and was a 2013 recipient of the University of Pittsburgh 225th Anniversary Medallion.
