Discovery Labware is a manufacturer of plastic consumable labware (liquid handling and cell culture products), biologically coated plastic consumables, cell culture and reagents. As director of operations, I was responsible for directing the manufacturing, quality and release of biologic products manufactured in Bedford and Woburn, MA facilities. Developed and managed budgets and schedules and achieved corporate goals based on key business metrics. Instilled a culture aimed at improving product scrap, expense spending, in-process inventory levels and production schedules, including mix and volumes requirements. Managed and participated in on-going trainings to continuously improve performance including customer service, product quality and regulatory compliance. Coordinated the resolution of complex processing issues by analyzing situational data requiring an evaluation of intangible variable factors, methods, techniques and materials. Managed new products releases to ensure stability and scale up in processes and equipment while maintaining full compliance with federal, state and local and BD quality and safety policies, procedures and practices. Awarded BD's Manufacturing Award for Quality Improvement.
