I was responsible for ensuring collaboration both internally and externally to deliver strategic freight delivery as wall as managing contract costs and delivering annual contract price increases.In this role I was responsible for leading on developing relationships and account planning, ensuring the effective execution of account plans as well as to ensure compliance and delivery against customer contracts. This includes mapping out key customer stakeholders and aligning Freightliner commercial resource to manage these relationships.The role also included developing customer KPIs to reflect contract service delivery and providing a communication schedule to ensure that KPI / our performance delivery is understood at all levels.
Customer Account Manager (Transpennine Express And Community & Stakeholder)
I was responsible for leading on key relationships with Network Rail’s customers and stakeholders, to support delivery of joint business objectives, as part of a joint Alliance structureI was responsible for all elements of Customer Management, with TransPennine Express (TPE) as my primary customer. Since starting in this role, I developed a formal ‘Alliance’ across all elements of the business. This includes leading a high-level Alliance Board, which gives the opportunity for the Network Rail Route Executive and the TransPennine Express Executive Board to look at all elements of strategy and performance.In addition to my Account Management, I also act as lead for Community Rail and Community Stakeholders across the North West. I am the voice of Network Rail for a number of organisations across the north including approximately 12-15 Community Rail Partnerships, community and charity organisations as well as the primary contact for stakeholder forums including Greater Manchester Transport Committee, Mayors Board, Metrolink and Rail Service Sub-Committee. I developed a Community Rail Implementation and Engagement strategy for the route, putting structure to discipline that was previously unmanaged. I work with the Community Rail Partnerships and local friends groups as stakeholders to ensure their voice is heard in Network Rail. I also led on volunteering for the route, developing a series of volunteer events in collaboration with Community Rail organisations.
Community Relations Executive
I was responsible for instigating, developing, and preserving the relationship between Network Rail and its external stakeholders, including MPs, lineside neighbours, pressure and interest groups, councils, and other interested groups. The role includes dealing with stakeholders and lineside neighbours to resolve problems and working to proactively engage with communities when Network Rail were undertaking improvement works. This included developing communication plans to keep affected stakeholders aware of ongoing railway improvements to ensure that the organisation promotes effective community relations programmes that enhance its reputation as the operator of Britain’s railway infrastructure. This included developing a bespoke approach to each project, including the use of social media schemes, letter drops, face-to-face communications or larger scale public information events. I organised and led a significant number of drop-in and presentation style events where residents and other stakeholders could meet with Network Rail representatives to discuss schemes or work.
