As an Account Administrator Daniel was responsible for variety of day-to-day tasks, including: accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit control, sales ledger, bank reconciliation, database management and liaising with clients. Working in this environment has enabled Daniel to gain a variety of hard and soft skills and an in depth knowledge of the companies accounts system (Sage). Whilst working in the accounts department Daniel was approached and asked to learn specialist media analysis software so that he could help out other departments when needed. Since the initial training Daniel had proven to be very proficient and was given several of his own client accounts to analyse with the specialist software. This new role gave Daniel several new responsibilities, including: generating measurements, calculating the Advertising Cost Equivalent (ACE), compiling coverage reports, portal uploads and extract information based on a clients brief.Whilst working in the accounts department Daniel was liaising heavily with the senior partner about new software which was being developed for IPCB. Given Daniel’s programming knowledge gained from university he was able to offer insightful input and help elaborate on the notes and questions asked by the software development company. The first preview of the software was a failure, it was obvious that the development team completely misunderstood IPCB’s software requirements and had built a programme unusable by IPCB. Shortly after this meeting Daniel was asked to be more involved in the development of the software and became the project consultant. This new role required Daniel to liaise with the software developers in Spain, outline IPCB requirements and ensure these requirements were met. He was also responsible for giving detailed feedback on the technical suitability of their proposals and has compiled a 32 page document outlining a basic GUI design and a step-by-step guide to how IPCB require the software to function.
