Designed and built a core shelf SNMP agent in C++ for a multi-service SONET/ATM/IP switch in real time embedded environment. Built NMS GUI application that integrated a SONET NMS, called SNMS, with a data networking NMS, called Naviscore. Delivered functional SNMP agent on schedule. Completed coding, code review, functional/design specification, and unit testing all on schedule for all projects. Initiated standard Mib definition and Mib implementation for new Core and High Speed Shelves to reduce development delays and improve quality. Developed non-intrusive integration plan that improved re-usability of phase one GUI project to allow for quick delivery. Initiated new architecture for phase two integration of NMS/SNMS that incorporated CORBA/Java and JDBC.

Senior protocol test engineer for all department data network testing and several SONET (APS) interworking tests of a data lab that included Cisco, Cascade, Kentrox, Newbridge, and Lucent switches, routers, and SONET multiplexers. Work included the design and setup OSPF conformance and interoperability testing and SONET ring and ATM interoperability testing. Also responsible for the test infrastructure of data lab with Unix and NT Servers, network analyzers, and signal generators tied into multi-vendor SONET/Data network. Full DS1 IMA state machine was integrated, debugged, and tested to interoperate with other IMA compliant devices. Automated ethernet test cases using tcl and Smartbits tcl API library to significantly reduce regression testing on Ethernet/IMA interfaces and this effort also led to quick fault isolation on some troublesome intermittent bugs on new model evaluations. Authored test plans including IMA LAN test plan.

Integrated RF telephony features into Host Digital Terminal and Network Interface Unit (NIU). Responsibilities included RF measurement/characterization, RF software integration, TL1 testing, CDMA testing, test planning, documentation, and RF software/hardware test execution. Heavy use of T1 test sets, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, RF noise generators, RF filters, RF attenuators, CATV test equipment, and logic analyzers. Developed Network Interface Unit (NIU) framer programs that led to identification and resolution of dynamic range, in-band noise, upstream burst timing, and video distortions prior to customer deliveries. Authored and executed SNET system software and hardware integration test plans on schedule. Wrote HP Visual Basic programs for automated system test instrument control. Helped debug hardware components for noise, timing, and jitter problems.

Integrate initial end-to-end digital video system and deploy trial system to customer. Administrate Silicon Graphics (SGI) Challenge Server and integrate new ATM cards and drivers to work with DVHT. Integrated initial phase pay per view (PPV) to Cablevision. Identified and resolved cross-vendor incompatibilities for successful phase I scheduled delivery.
