 Manitoba Government's Better Systems Initiative (BSI) project consisted of a new business model designed to provide multiple channels of access to government, including voice, IVR, fax, e-mail, and web-based applications. Deliverable consisted of incorporating the distributed databases of each government department into one common logical view and ensuring the consistency and concurrence of data, transactions, and business rules, regardless of the access channel. This included:• Designing the high-level data warehouse and departmental data marts from the operational view.• Designing a metadata repository, and the data conversion and migration processes.• Participating in product selection of intelligent business decision tools.• Consulted with clients to determine functional and spatial requirements of new structures.• Worked with other team members to update project cost analysis spreadsheets.• Communicated with vendors and contractors to incorporate input in project designs.• Planned and led professional development reviews and "lessons learned" sessions.
