I've been in the luxury automotive business since 1985. Most of that time I was a sales and leasing representative but in 2015 I accepted a sales manager's position. During that time our dealership sold as many new cars in 2015 as we did in 2014. While 80% of the dealerships in our market area sold approximately 10%-20% less new cars. I continuously motivated and inspired 30 salespeople on a daily basis. I was fortunate to have a great sales staff to do this with. Even if you have the best sales force they need and want management to be involved with their day to day activities. Because of my sales staff's success I was promoted to General Sales Manager in January 2016. I relinquished my position September 30, 2016. During that time we had much success. The dealership maintained it's high level of sales and gross profit. Volume and gross profit remained near or at the top on the East Coast. From July 1989 until April 2015 I was a sales and leasing representative at Ray Catena Mercedes-Benz in Edison, NJ. I was very fortunate to achieve the success I did. I sold 8,000 cars for a profit of more than $50 million. For this to happen everything had to be right. Our dealership has the best service department around. For clients to keep coming back to me and referring as many people as they do they have to be very happy. I always made sure that every detail was taken care of. They never had to worry about anything.
