Following Initial Officer Training at Britannia Royal Naval College Dartmouth, Daniel served in both HMS CLYDE and HMS TYNE, before shore jobs at HMS COLLINGWOOD and Navy Command Headquarters. Gaining his bridge watch keeping certificate in 2015 Daniel moved to the Submarine fleet, joining HMS VIGILANT as the Intelligence Officer in 2016.

• Executive Assistant to Deputy Assistant Chief of Staff (Above Water) providing the co-ordination function for the department as well as providing support across the whole of the Ships and Submarines Capability Development Team, operating in the develop/deliver space to assist in maintaining effective output in an efficient manner.• Managing the drafting of policy documents including the Type 23 Frigate, River Class Batch 2 Offshore Patrol Class and Type 45 Destroyer Concepts of Use. Identifying and communicating with stakeholders both within NCHQ and across defence, collating and quality controlling inputs to ensure that the finished project is a document which can be used by all 3 services, and the wider government, as a reference for the running of multi-million pound platforms.• Representing the Royal Navy at Education Business Partnership events as part of the Inspire Portsmouth Initiative. Giving presentations in both primary and secondary schools, to inspire the next generation of naval personnel.• MOSS team site administrator for the department. Managing team sites to ensure documents are correctly stored, and easily accessible to the right people. Ensuring that documents are saved correctly on the right system for their security classification, to prevent sensitive documents falling into the wrong hands.

Working at university open days to give prospective new students a taste of university life by giving them tours of the campus and accommodation, as well as bus tours of Brighton and the surrounding area.Giving knowledgeable answers to prospective students' questions to help them decide if Sussex was the university for them.Also working at other student services events such as graduation ceremonies, working behind the scenes to make sure the day was a memorable one for the graduates and their families.
