As Assistant Park Manager, I am responsible for end-to-end strategic planning to increase efficiency in Water Safety, Park Service, and Food Service, delivering consistent success in food and Beverage revenue increase while maintaining a low cost of goods sold. I apply the skills I have changed over the past years to effectively manage a diverse team of nearly 120 seasonal employees, including recruitment, interviewing, hiring, performance management, reviews, coaching, training, and succession management of hourly staff, managers and supervisors to provide a safe and fun recreation experience for families. I enjoy collaborating with all five departments to implement procedures that reduce employee and customer issues and ensure the best possible customer experience and highest level of satisfaction, as well as align corporate strategy together regarding sales, advertising, marketing, promotional materials and other to maximize revenue while maintaining excellent service. When I started with Splash Kingdom, I was really pleased that they provided so much flexibility as I continued my education. In fact, I was able to work summers and breaks on a consistent basis, while serving in many interesting roles, beginning as a Lifeguard in 2014, and promoted to Lead Lifeguard in 2016, and Aquatics Manager in 2017 due to exceptional knowledge of safety, outstanding leadership, and ability to communicate effectively with all levels. I was given additional responsibilities such as serving as department leader, where I was accountable for financial management, hiring, training and supervising team members, creating a safe learning environment, and delivering exceptional customer service. Lastly, I effectively motivate diverse groups through persuasive communication, assessing swimmer progress, led by example in the risk management area, and responded to and report all incidents and accidents.
Various Leadership Roles
Throughout my education, I also served in several leadership roles, including as a valued Student Worker, Office of First Year Experience, Freshman Connection Student Coordinator, and other roles, all which helped increase student retention rates, improve student communication, and enhance fundraising. For example, I expertly planned and executed a number of special events for first year college students ensuring a higher retention rate for the university, and a higher level of student satisfaction and sense of belongingness. I also collaborated with the Freshman Connection Program Coordinator to plan and execute the freshman orientation program, ensuring an exceptional orientation experience for the 1,000 new student attendees. In addition, I oversaw 20+ orientation leaders and 60+ volunteers to ease the transition from high school to college, increasing student morale, and ultimately significantly improving the university’s retention rate. My success resulted in the successful creation, promotion, and execution of collaborative large-scale, new member education programs that successfully spurred student connection, engagement, and action, as well as a committee that planned a free, two-day leadership conference, including developing marketing materials, creating itinerary, writing speakers biographies/introductions, and other key tasks. As president of the diverse Demon Volunteers in Progress, I planned a fundraiser resulting in $25K in funds for use in future freshman orientation program. Lastly, I recommended by faculty to serve on the Student Advisory and Outreach Board to provide feedback to the Dean of the School of Business and Technology about programs and potential ways they can be improved.
