Bright Horizons Recruitment Ltd is a company I have set up that specialises in the actuarial , financial and accountancy markets in the UK . With some international opportunities too, we aim to find the best positions for suitable candidates .As the MD I am responsible for building networks , conducting executive search , conducting training , client development , headhunting .

I was a recruitment consultant working from home for The Recruitment Solution , a recruitment incubation company .

While the economy was in huge downturn I endeavoured to get the funding required from Dublin City Enterprise Board (as enthusiastically encouraged) to set up a recruitment operation to help people find work abroad as the economic predictions were of huge movements of people leaving Ireland . The strategy was to help them find work abroad and keep an element of open to return when things improved again with potential emigrants . This way individuals would be able to keep earning , keep up to date industry skill sets and offer more when returning .After a major report application which took months to put together , other people on the board got involved and decided we no longer were in the category they were looking to fund . I used the company to continue to do some general recruitment for contacts in a very quite market until moving back to Liverpool to spend some time with my Dad .

Senior Credit Controller responsible for millions each month due to the company form the Man guarding side of the business . All the usual responsibilities including liaising with the man guarding team to verify hours worked and congruity with the billings and getting the payments in on time to monthly targets . The economy was worsening further and I was one of several redundancies made by Chubb at the time .

Taken on in a Credit Manager role with a view to training to get qualified as a Credit Manager I took the responsibilities that such a job would entail . I was responsible on setting credit limits for new customers , conducting credit checks on each potential new customer , liaising with the insurance company to cover our risk , holding credit meetings with the other functions of the company to discuss any ideas of extended credit , demanding money etc . I was responsible also for the credit control element and cleaned up the books considerably . As the economy began to deteriorate the construction industry was the first hit and my career path was no longer assured and so it was time to move on .

NCPS had many income streams and my function was to clean up and get the money in from the default book . I managed to reverse the cash flow trend to take us out of an invoice discounting phase for the company while the company sought the funds to help the buying of a new premises and expansion of various income lines . The chief invited me to do the job from home but I was looking for a bigger challenge than what was on offer .

I contacted customers on a daily basis to liaise with them paymment plans to suit the client and the company . I diaried in all information onto the computer systems to accurately record where each of my accounts was up to .
