I taught the lab sections for general chemistry, as well organic chemistry for both majors and non-majors. During that time my duties included teaching students general lab techniques, explaining theoretical underpinnings of the experiments they replicated, and teaching general lab safety/etiquette. I have also taught the discussion section of general chemistry for chemical engineering students.

I worked in the Szymczak Lab in the Chemistry department, under Prof. Nathaniel K. Szymczak. My work focused on synthesizing a series of group 6 metal hydrides, and preparation of borazine and borazine derivatives. The work also included rudimentary web-design, HTML, and laboratory indexing.

As a summer intern in the corrosion prevention department, my time was mostly spent data-basing research comparing different coatings used for electrical connectors for ground based vehicles used by the Army. I was also responsible for coordinating the movement of materials for testing by contractors, and making presentations regarding the scientific basis for materials selections for proposed future alloy coatings in electrical connectors in ground vehicles.
