I am Deputy Director for Technology at ARPA-E and a Program Director for the SCALEUP Program supporting US companies scale their clean energy products and services to enter the marketplace and attract follow on investment. I also work as Technology to Market Advisor for many early stage teams developing power electronics technologies in grid infrastructure, power conversion in PV, Wind and EV industries as well as emerging e-aviation space.At BP, I was Emerging Technology Advisor in BP's Chief Scientist's Office evaluating disruptive technologies and also have +25 years experience in the Solar Business unit with 70 publications and 12 patents (granted and applications). I have worked in all areas of the PV value chain for BP while based in the UK, Spain, and the US, most recently assessing the impact of energy storage and fuel cells on the transportation and grid sectors.I have led US Department of Energy funded R&D projects at BP and received a US DOE Research award in 2001 for activities in the area of thin film solar cells. I collaborated with major research organizations such as UC Berkeley, the Fraunhofer Institute, and the US National Renewable Energy Laboratory.
