Profile bio

About Daniel Curry

Engineering Doctorate (EngD) graduand from the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) in Carbon Capture and Storage and Cleaner Fossil Energy (CCSCFE). After developing a broad awareness of the energy/power generation sector, I have researched, developed, and optimised analytical techniques for flue gas filtration systems. These analytical methods form part of a wider life cycle analysis, which considered both environmental and economical impacts to commercially operable combustion sites in the U.K. Currently, my research is being used to help update and improve relevant British Standards. Overall, I am a self motivated individual, capable of understanding the wider impact of engineering decisions on the product and how the client may receive the product. I have managed and executed projects work over £100,000 from initial concept, through to commissioning. I am passionate about research and development whilst considering implications to the client. I am committed to ensuring excellence, whilst still pushing the boundaries to develop and improve best practice, based on the information/data available.I enjoy understanding big data and finding trends/patterns to better inform on operational practice. I have experience in prototyping using 3D modelling and printing, which is something I would like to learn more about in the future. Being able to self evaluate and reflect has helped me to become the engineer I am and has helped me to overcome barriers during my career. My background image is a cross section of a nonwoven filtration media taken using uCT. This technique featured within my research and is an exciting, emerging analytical technique. Please feel free to ask me any questions about this, or my other research/experience.Views are my own.
