It offers a range of financial services including wholesale and retail banking, fund management, stockbroking and pension administration services.I am involved in strategy formulation and implementation as a member of EXCO, where my contribution helped the Bank attain average revenue growth of 9% pa whilst reducing operating costs by 11% pa in the period 2011 - 2016. I lead a team of 10 professional staff in providing assurance services to the Board Audit Committee, management and other stakeholders on the adequacy and effectiveness of risk management, internal controls and governance processes. In 2012, I overhauled the Internal Audit function from staffing and methodology which improved productivity by 400% and brought cost savings of US$40k pa. This lead to a successful external quality assurance review by EY in 2016.Successfully implemented the core banking system, T24 in 2016 , the Basel II Capital Adequacy and Risk Management Accord in 2013 as a key member of the respective project steering committees and championed the implementation of the Enterprise Risk Assessor audit software - a Methodware product in 2013. In addition, I led a project that successfully developed and implemented an automated Issue Tracking system to facilitate monitoring and follow up on resolution of audit action plans in 2014. I certify the adequacy and effectiveness of the Bank's ICAAP, Capital and Balance Sheet management to the Reserve Bank of Malawi (RBM) as regulator.Improved the quality of stakeholder relations and the image of Internal Audit function as a valued business partner through effective management of diverse portfolio relationships with the Audit committee, executive management, RBM and law enforcement agencies, e.g., the Police, amongst others.
