Experience in computer vision, scaleable backends and (more recently) bioinformatics and ML for biology.At Cradle I am leading an absolutely off the charts talented team of engineers and researchers with the ambitious goal of revolutionizing protein design.At ETH, I worked on scaling up Metagraph (https://metagraph.ethz.ch/) to index all publicly available DNA and generally spent time learning about the applications of machine learning in biology.At Daedalean, I lead a team of talented physicists, roboticists, computer vision experts and software engineers with the mission to create a robotic pilot that can pass the exam for human pilots.At Google I was fortunate enough to find a place where I could explore new ideas and turn them into new delightful user experiences. In 2010 I started exploring the idea of controlling the TV using the mobile phone, and kicked off a project that later became known as Google Cast (the technology behind Chromecast and YouTube on TV).I simply love solving difficult problems, writing code, and learning new things, so I usually end up doing a bit of everything in my projects from research, to high-level-design, coding on every imaginable platform, monitoring, productionization and even user documentation.My code is running on thousands for servers (YouTube Api, YouTube Cast), tens of millions of game consoles (YouTube on Xbox), hundreds of millions of TVs (the DIAL discovery protocol) and billions of smartphones (YouTube client app).
