Our lab studies coagulation and platelet function after trauma, hemorrhage, and sepsis. The overall goal is to treat the effects of coagulopathy that develops after severe trauma in combat casualty victims. We also study methods to lengthen blood storage, and the intracellular mechanisms that degrade platelets and coagulation factors in stored blood.
