A passionate believer in the power of quality B2B marketing solutions and innovative technology, I have worked in the B2B media, marketing and technology sector for almost 30 years, and more recently in the data and intelligence sector for the last 4 years.I was the founder and CEO of Progressive Content, which I launched in Sept 2010 and grew it to be a top-10 content and technology agency with 85+ staff, and represent the largest B2B specialist content provider in the UK. Our core proposition was "transforming business communications, through intelligent content and innovative technology".In May 2020 Progressive Content was bought by GlobalData plc, one of the fastest growing and most successful data and intelligence groups globally. Progressive Content now forms an integral part of the GlobalData Media division, offering unparalleled content and technology solutions for companies across all verticals, and all regional markets worldwide. Having become part of GlobalData plc, I moved into the role of Managing Director, M&A, within the media and data intelligence division, and Investment Incubator lead across the group, looking at opportunities to further bring in new technology, data, intelligence and media capabilities. We focused on businesses that had service lines across all three core B2B media segments of data, events and media - and offered the opportunity to substantially grow and value-create at least two of these segments (often due to the service-offering having an unrealised data or media services product opportunity). I specialised in identifying targets, DD process, integrating businesses and working on sales strategy, productisation and new market strategies.Having fully exited GlobalData in the summer of 2023 I began working as a Strategic Advisor with a selection of PE firms, consulting on data & intelligence, and media sector targets, and advising their portfolio businesses on service-line offerings and productisation strategies across data and media solutions.In July 2024 I joined Opus Origin as COO and lead operating partner, a Private Equity platform business specialising in investments in the B2B event, marketing and intelligence services sector. My focus is helping our portfolio companies scale, grow and diversify their service offerings, and drive sustainable value creation through enhancing their quality of earnings.Between January 2022 and July 2024 I was also the Chairman of the Content Marketing Association, and remain an active part of the advisory management team.
