I led a re-platforming exercise over a 6-month period for Zonal's iOrder platform - which powers JD Wetherspoon's "Order and Pay" app. I reverse-engineered and documented over a hundred API endpoints and processes written in a legacy programming language with the view to recreate them in a Microsoft tech stack.I personally rewrote all of the platform's batch processes in PowerShell which reduced daily batch job run time from 8 hours to 10 minutes. The batch jobs had been a source of constant frustration for our customers prior to my rewrite and had frequently caused major service outages which disabled their till networks. In addition to this I:• Designed restful APIs for hospitality software in C# ASP.NET Core MVC• Wrote automation and unit and tests for C# applications• Produced SDK/API design documentation in Swagger• Used Docker virtualisation/containers to setup local development environments• Applied Agile (Kanban) methodology for delivering user stories

I managed the roll-out of a new, city-wide network for the City of Edinburgh Council. It linked Edinburgh's libraries, providing them with internet access, and had an initial budget of around £100k. I managed the workstack of several, engineers as well as some infrastructure functions. I had to resolve issues with 3rd party suppliers and local resource conflicts as well as arranging for out-of-hours (or non-disruptive) works to be carried out at various libraries. In addition to this I:• Managed circa 30 small ICT projects and 5 larger projects, each of £20k-£100k value (Assyst CRM, PRINCE2, Microsoft Project)• Coordinated the work of small teams of technical specialists and tracked progress• Created automated billing tool which created itemised costings of customer-submitted change request forms (Microsoft Word, Excel, VBA, Macros)
