KML is an independent contract microbiology laboratory with full microbiological testing and analysis of products from various industries. With significantly reduced turn times, KML completes testing analyses such as ASTM, AOAC, AATCC, FDA, EPA, USDA, USP, CTFA, JIZ, and ISO within 3-5 days. KML is operational seven days a week, three days of which I work with the team and on two days I personally run the lab and complete all necessary tasks: responsible for all receiving, preparation, processing, documentation and reporting of samples.I perform microbiology tests on food, pharmaceutical, cosmetic, and water products, including total plate counts, pathogen detection, and coliform detection. In addition, I complete Antimicrobial Efficacy Tests on products. Commonly occurring tasks include plate reading and plate counts of aerobic bacteria, yeasts, and mold; processing samples for plating and pathogen detection tests; handling of liquid, powder, capsule, cosmetic, and swab samples. I am responsible for maintaining aseptic conditions, and am presently involved in obtaining certification for ISO 17025 standards.The majority of the sample processing, testing and analysis of results I complete are performed on food additives, dietary supplements, vitamins, and food production machinery samples. I am also experienced with testing homeopathic products, cosmetic quality, and long-term stability tests.

I was responsible for maintaining nutritional requirements for drosophila melanogaster used for experiments at The University of Maryland’s Biology Department. The position required dependability and procedural accuracy. I also trained newly hired Food Technicians on correct processes and procedures, and answered questions regarding the position.
