About Daniel Defoe
In the past I was a producer, and director for KTXL 40 and the McClatchy Broadcasting System. I produced, directed and voiced many award winning spots and advertising campaigns. I left radio and TV for academia and as a professor of history at Sierra College, I taught history on live television from 2003 to 2015. More recently I voiced a documentary film that told the story of the development of the granite industry in California and its profound effect on the building of the transcontinental railroad and the building of the California state capitol and, after the earthquake of 1904, the rebuilding of SanFrancisco. The film also documented the decline of the granite industry in the twentieth century.
