About Daniel Dekoter

My career goal has been to live my heritage--a small town northwest Iowa lifestyle--while engaging challenging legal issues for clients in a variety of contexts. I have served as lead counsel for defense of serious injury product liability cases for Dethmers Manufacturing Company in multiple states for many years. I serve as counsel for personal injury, FELA, and property claims for Canadian Pacific Railroad subsidiary Dakota, Minnesota & Eastern Railroad Company in Iowa. I provide insurance defense representation for several insurance carriers throughout Iowa. I work with manufacturing companies on legal issues relating to customer and vendor relationships. I also work with local businesses and banks on a variety of legal issues, e.g. corporate matters and foreclosures.My generalist, small town background also keeps me directly involved in the personal legal issues of clients who use me for estate planning, probate and trust work, real estate matters, and other personal issues. However, I avoid divorces and criminal law.
