I founded Equilibrium in 2010, in an effort to achieve goals that are associated with restoring, conserving and preserving natural resources and desirable ecological communities within Arkansas. Equilibrium is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. Whenever possible, we set out to streamline activities related to project implementation so that we can efficiently and effectively execute our projects. Equilibrium's projects are divided into two categories; water monitoring and land stewardship.Our water monitoring projects include water sampling, discharge calculations, river surveying, and pollutant loading estimations. Currently, we are monitoring thirty stations across three watersheds. We report our findings and data to the State of Arkansas and EPA; it is also available to the public by way of the STORET database.Our land stewardship projects consist of the implementing various management activities to achieve desirable ecological communities. Our projects primarily focus on the management of invasive vegetative species, reforestation, and the re-introduction of prescribed fire. Our stewardship projects have ranged in size from five acres to hundreds of acres.
