For the first 15 years of working, I have worked in the food industry. I met many wonderful people, gain valuable experience in leading a crew as well as learning how to treat and talk to a customer during that time, but at some point I realized the food industry was not for me. I found a job online that said no experience needed, training on site. I took advantage of that and applied to Providien a Carlisle Company. At Providien, I started out as a machine operator. In a year and a half, I learned how the machines worked, how to break down and set-up new tools on the machine, operate a forklift, how to calculate actual good vs total produced, and present the daily operations in forming to the plant management. After showing I’m capable of learning new responsibilities and exceeding in my role, I was promoted to a production lead. As production lead, I deploy my crew to their respective machines, print off new work orders and corresponding paperwork, report daily production, move orders in the system after the job is finished, and assist the crew with any needs they may have.
