Commodity Manager, Global Supply Chain & Procurement, Material Management
Spearheaded the Global Procurement & Supply Chain Cost Reduction Initiative that was created to improve cost savings, reduce time and enhance efficiency. The scope of the project included component cost consolidation, strategic sourcing and the transition of inventory and logistics flow from manufacturing facilities in Mexico to various other international manufacturing facilities located in China and Central and South America. This project was successfully completed 8 months ahead of schedule with a cost savings of $7.4M. Managed cost estimating, sourcing, evaluating, and expediting of various components through strategic suppliers, vendors and broker markets to minimize material shortages and reduce the delivery timeframe of manufactured goods by 32% to end customers. Improved efficiency by 24% by developing sourcing strategies ensuring continuity of supply by optimizing clear to builds, level loading & customer forecasts. Managed daily supply chain development activities that included end-to-end mapping and optimization, sourcing management, benchmark analysis, distribution network optimization and inventory management. Chaired weekly meetings with manufacturing facilities in China, Mexico and Brazil evaluating material shortages and rebalancing inventory across various product lines ensuring customer order fulfillment requirements were met. Coordinated efforts and directed engineering to examine component substitutions/equivalents to meet RoHS compliant requirements. Supervised the process of selecting, packing and auditing of material being transferred from one manufacturing facility to the others
