I started with Choice Ltd as an Accounts Payable Assistant before quickly rising to Accounts Payable Controller. Working in the finance department my main duty is ensuring the smooth running of the purchase ledger. My tasks include supplier payments, raising invoices and credit notes, posting bank payments, supplier account reconciliations and pursuing missing invoices. I am also tasked with completing the petty cash returns and bank reconciliations for 26 of the care homes which the company runs. Talking to suppliers on a daily basis I have developed an excellent telephone manner and can always liaise professionally even in difficult situations.

My main duty was preparing year end accounts for Limited Companies as well as personal tax returns for their directors. In addition I completed the monthly payroll for approximately 30 companies of varying sizes. I also completed bookkeeping tasks both in the office and offsite at client’s offices. These tasks involved using Sage and Xero to complete bank reconciliations, expense postings and sales invoice postings.I also had the opportunity to complete some audit work, during which I spot checked sales, purchases, fixed assets, VAT, wages and many other operations. I ensured statutory returns were correctly filed, complete and up to date.

Working within the Corporate Services department, my main duty was managing a portfolio of between 60-100 Limited Companies and ensuring that their accounts and statutory returns were kept up to date along with general bookkeeping while also closely observing HMRC’s guidance and standards. I was well respected and trusted by my clients, always ready and able to assist them with any questions and queries they had.

I started within OBK as a Tax Assistant, quickly rising to Tax Specialist. Having worked in the self-assessment tax department, I can confidently advise on the tax affairs of both sole traders and Limited Companies. This role mainly consisted of filing sole trader self-assessments.

My main role at PPK was checking expense claims and uploading them to the Sage 50 system. I also ran payroll on IRIS. I was responsible for running the end of year P11Ds, P35s and P60s. In addition to this, I performed general administrative duties and some accounts preparation.

ShopTo.net is an online video games retailer. While working there, I handled ‘goods in’. This involved checking current stock levels and then booking stock in. I would then put the stock into our picking machine. I also dealt with returns and was responsible for sending faulty goods back to ShopTo.net’s suppliers
