Full responsibility of a Consultant Vascular Surgeon, involving full spectrum of open vascular operations and collaboration with endovascular intervention together with EVAR. Open procedures involve operation of aortic arch branches, visceral branches of abdominal aorta, abdominal aorta aneurysms and reconstruction of illiacs arteries, below groin arteries reconstructions. Full spectrum of venous operations. I am capable of providing endovascular procedure independently and combine the open and endovascular approach for elective and urgent cases. Coverage of vascular outpatient clinics. MDT discussion and planning patient investigations and treatment process. On call duty on 1:3 rota involving urgent consultations and operations. Teaching of young doctors at vascular ward, clinic and during operations to explain practical background of the vascular surgery and advantages of endovascular or hybrid interventions. As the locum Consultant Vascular Surgeon I was involved with morbidity, mortality discussion and the organization process of the Vascular Centre. I completed learning program for the locum post.

I am a vascular surgery consultant providing full spectrum of surgical vascular and endovascular procedures. I have an extensive experience with elective as well as urgent surgeries. As a consultant I am responsible for indication procedures, surgery and its management postoperative care, follow up and in-hospital on call consultation service. I managed multidisciplinary cooperation with invasive radiologists and physicians. I am still a chairman of the Vascular Surgery Board Examination for the Czech Republic. I provide full management about varicose veins, endovenous RFA and ultrasound guided foam sclerotisation of perforators. I use my experiences from field surgery for polytrauma patients and for penetration injuries of vessels.

Vascular Surgery Consultant.I teach also students and doctors of the Faculty of Military Health Sciences of the University of Defence in Hradec Kralove in the Czech Republic. I am a teacher and examiner of the BATLS and damage control courses (from 2001), which are courses preparing doctors for foreign military missions. I work on book (Vascular Injuries) together with my colleagues.

I am fully qualified and trained vascular surgeon (ST8) with a practice more than 14 years of surgery. I provide full spectrum of vascular surgery from aortic arch branches together with abdominal aorta, pelvic, leg arteries and veins. I have experiences to provide endovascular procedures (PTA, stent implantation, EVAR). I have been permanently employed at the University Hospital in Hradec Kralove, the Czech Republic since 1998.Territory of the Vascular Centre serves about 1 million people. I am fully responsible for indications, managing operations. I lead indication seminars and ward rounds. I am on-call every month. I have experiences with vascular trauma from civilian and war conditions, especially penetration vascular injuries.I have experience with teaching civilian students at the Medical Faculty of Charles University in Hradec Kralove, as well as with foreign students in English (80 hours per year).

In 2004 I worked as a General/Vascular Surgeon at the British Field Hospital near Basra in Iraq , where I cooperated with British doctors and other medical staff in war zone for 3 months 24 hours on call. The conditions were hard with no CTA, only X ray, USS and surgery with limited storage of blood derivatives. It was a great honour for me and I gained there valuable experiences. Our team saved a lot of soldiers. Our great success was an operation of a gravely injured British Officer with transection of an innominate vein. Thanks to urgent sternotomy and damage control surgery he survived. I am glad I could use my vascular surgery skills for damage control and for the definitive reconstructions of other injured soldiers. I appreciate also the great cooperation between our and the UK military health care team.
