Short summary:I am a postdoctoral researcher in the lab of Pleasantine Mill at the Institute of Genetics and Cancer (University of Edinburgh). In my role I have managed multiple projects and helped deliver world leading research, while learning advanced life science techniques and how to handle large amounts of data.CV: Work carried out in the laboratory of Pleasantine Mill at the University of Edinburgh.Postdoctoral fellow researching the translational regulation of motile axonemes and the contribution of tubulin isotypes to cilia diversity and disease. Thesis title "Development of tools to explore the fundamentals of axonemal dynein heavy chain biology and improve the efficiency of genome editing". 13/09/2015-15/11/2019.During the last 8 years I have applied for and secured £41,000 in personal research funding as well as contributing to the conceptualisation and preliminary data for a further £1,850,000 of research funding. I have also won multiple awards for travel and training, totalling over £2800. These travel awards have allowed me to present my research to peers around the world, leading to me to win the fellowship award for poster presentation at the CSHA meeting on Cilia & Centrosomes.
