•Acted as area Surveyor for several KCC Schools within Kent, taking care of all building maintenance issues. Maintaining close relationships with the Head Teacher of each school and providing schools direct Building Surveying services when called upon.•Undertaking planned maintenance meetings with the schools to update the KCC planned maintenance system.•Undertaking works instructed by the KCC area team as part of the annual programme. Contracts varied from large north light replacements to a sport centre, to installing temporary buildings.•Formed good working relations with the “Adult Education team” which presented me with the opportunity to specialist and implement the new DDA regulations in addition to the building surveying projects throughout Kent.•Worked within large teams of surveyors to meet tight client deadlines, requiring good proactive team working skills.•Surveyed numerous schools and KCC buildings throughout Kent.

Shadowed a Chartered Surveyor on large contracts, assisting with contract administrator duties such as valuing valuations submitted by contractors and carrying out pre-handover snagging.
