I am an assistant professor of pediatric infectious diseases at UC Davis caring for children with severe infections including those with immunodeficiencies and HIV. I collaborate with nurses and hospital managers to reduce hospital acquired infections and optimize use of antibiotics. I am a former LEAP (Leaders in epidemiology, Antimicrobial stewardship, and Public health) fellow and led an interdisciplinary team of physicians and public health experts to better understand and improve antibiotic use at all Colorado hospitals, including pediatric patients in critical access hospitals. I enjoy teaching medical students and residents and continue to conduct and publish research. My favorite job related responsibility is teaching, both formally with medical professionals, and informally, when I partner with families in care of their children.
