I run a machine that forms steel tubes into airbag cylinders and that drills a fill-port. I am responsible for making sure that the machine runs smoothly as well as making sure that the parts being made are to specifications.I use multiple gauges to measure the depth of the fill-port as well as the spot-face and the length of the part.

I was responsible for shaking out the molds from the previous day’s pour byguiding them to a large agitator using a ceiling crane. I then had to take the castparts out of the agitator and take them to a grinder for further processing. I wasalso responsible for moving new molds from a conveyor to a suitable place on thefloor where I would then prepare them for pouring. During a pour, usually at theend of the day, I was responsible for pouring a liquidizer in the fill holes to keepthe cast steel from receding far enough to ruin the casting.

I was responsible for working in a small team to pour proper product into anagitator to be portioned and packaged during a run. I had to follow strictprocedures to keep our work area clean. I had to read the computer system toknow what the next run was going to be and have the proper product ready to go.I had to use an electric fork­ lift to move barrels of product from the receiving endof the plant to our work area. When a run was over I was responsible for properlycleaning the equipment and insuring that it was ready to be used for the nextbatch of product. I was responsible for using a radio to communicate that I wasready to begin dumping the next run to the machine operators.

As a soldier in the canadian forces I was responsible for being mentally andphysically fit. I had to be familiar with multiple weapon systems and their rolewithin a section. I had to know how to react in combat situations throughknowledge of first aid, aieldcraft, and tactics and I had to be a functional andreliable member of a team. As an Infantry Soldier within a mechanised regiment Ihad to be familiar working with and in the LAV3 armored personnel carrier. As aCanadian Soldier I had to keep up a professional image in and out of garrisonthrough behavior as well as proper dress and deportment. I had be prepared fordeployment internationally or domestically. On September 2010 I had theopportunity to take part in training excercise operation Kapyong Thunder withBritish forces in Suffield, Alberta. I also was deployed domestically in operationLustre in May 2011 where we helped with the flooding of the Assiniboine river inPortage La Prairie, Manitoba.
