Carrying out work on an abundance of different machines such as Inertia Welding, Friction Welding, Vertical lathes and milling machines, process lines and many others. Work carried out can be anything from software, electrical, mechanical, robotics, planned maintenance and anything else required to service and repair the Machine Tools. Working as a small team requires us to take on more responsibility meaning we order our own stock/spares and obtain quotes from suppliers, book our own training courses, organise shifts/holidays and complete all documentation required as a team member. I operate Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) and Precision Measuring Machines (PMM) inspecting Rolle-Royce critical rotating parts such as blisks, drums and turbines. Also working in visual inspection following technical instructions and engineering diagrams to ensure the parts are delivered to the highest standard. During my time on a 1st line Typhoon Eurofighter Squadron my primary responsibilities were aircraft servicing and ground handling on UK soil and overseas when required. Once I had gained experience on the Aircraft I was able to work alongside the Mechanical, Avionics and Weapons trades giving me a good overall knowledge of the Eurofighter Typhoon Aircraft and its components including the Rolls-Royce EJ200 engine.
