I've recently finished a Master’s degree at BYU in mass communications in December 2010, focusing on international media, journalism and new media. I have a bachelor’s degree from BYU-Hawaii in International Culture Studies - Media. I am currently working as a media writer for 360 Education Solutions, a company that specializes in professional training for teachers. My main function as a media writer is to oversee all aspects of writing for the company. This includes, marketing writing, press releases, static web content as well as updating the website with current news and commentary on the education industry. I also oversee the company’s presence in various social media outlets. I am also have working part-time at Utah Valley University as an adjunct instructor in the communications department teaching news reporting, media writing, history of mass communications, public speaking and news editing. While there I used my experiences working as a copy editor for the Herald Journal, and my work as the Editor-In-Chief at the Ke Alaka'i at BYU-Hawaii. While there, I also worked as page designer and a reporter.Additionally, I worked for over a year in the BYU Independent Studies program in the corrections department, where I worked extensively in the areas of editing and correcting courses. This required me to make changes in both print and web form. In addition to performing corrections to various manuals and instructor materials, I was required to maintain databases of different courses, instructors and problems in Microsoft Excel. At times I also assisted with the design of the courses becoming very very familiar with Microsoft Office, and many different Adobe products including Dreamweaver, Acrobat, InDesign and Photoshop.Specialties: Editing in AP style, APA style and some Chicago/Turabian styles.
