Dan Megathlin heads Crowe’s National Sales/Use Tax Practice. He has over 25 years of experience in the area of State and Local Taxation, specifically specializing in transactional based taxes. He has significant experience in assisting clients manage state and local tax matters in Florida, North Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, and Alabama. Dan was formerly employed by the Florida Department of Revenue as a sales and use tax auditor out of the Department’s West Palm Beach Office and has spent the last 22 years in state and local tax consulting. Dan has a broad range of industry experience including manufacturing, hospitality, utilities, retail, transportation, and healthcare providers. He has contributed in many large state and local consulting engagements including numerous sales and use tax reverse audit projects. He has also been involved with several significantly large sales and use tax audit protests and voluntary disclosure projects.Dan has authored numerous articles on transactional tax issues and is a frequent speaker who is actively involved in COST, IPT and TEI. Dan is a CMI who graduated with honors from Palm Beach Atlantic University, with a B.S. in Accounting.
