I've had many interests and passions so far in my life. From welcoming guests into hotels or being the caretaker of classic cars to running with the best in Kenya and being part of one of the fastest growing startups ever. The list is long and always seems to be growing. Earlier this year I got interested in something new and impactful: stopping phone scams. If you haven't been targeted by some kind of phone scam before, you've won the phone number and digital safety lottery!Call it a chance, but as I sat together with my Antler Amsterdam cohort pitching ideas for our assignment a question popped into my mind. "How can we know that who we are talking to on the phone is really the person they claim to be?" Easy answer, if I recognize the voice then I know who it is. With so much in the news recently about phone scams being more common and now powered by AI, this answer and question seemed more relevant than ever to explore. ZerID (short for Zero Identification) is what has come from this question. Founded with the intention and mission to end phone scams, I couldn't be more excited to be working on solving this problem that continues to plague the world! It's not going to be easy and will take a tremendous amount of work with partners all over the world, but I genuinely believe that we've created a legitimate solution and are actively growing the network that will empower individuals to expose scammers, impostors and any other bad actor trying to steal your hard-earned money.
