Manage (25) moldmakers and designers in the process of building custom plastic injection molds. Primarily responsibilities include tool concepting and quoting of all jobs. Communicating the tool concept to the design department and critiquing the resulting design for functionality and conformance to the customer specifications. Responsible for steel and heat treat selections including secondary surface treatments.Responsible for job costing and general job profitability. Manage the company heathcare, 401K profit sharing, and general employee benefits.

Procured the purchase of plastic injection molds from outside moldbuilding companies. Had responsibility for bringing projects in at or under cost. Made sure mold vendors met the contracted mold deliveries to maintain project timelines. Specified the classification and cavitation of the mold required for each application based on the complexity of the part, molding resin, EAU, life of product, and the grade of part tolerance. The ultimate objective was to provide the customers with the most cost effective tooling solution for each job. Had sampling and customer acceptance responsibilities for each new mold. Made sure new molds met or exceeded the quoted molding cycle.Worked with the in house molding personel on molding and tooling problems in the production environment. Determined many of the solutions to performance problems including many that were not tooling related.
