The 35 years of my industrial experience has combined a diverse set of companies and experiences. As Manufacturing Engineer at Allison Transmission, General Motors, was my Introduction to large organizations coupled with exposure to the size and scope of the US auto industry. My entrepreneurial ambitions transitioned my focus to a career in sales. Taking my first sales position as a Sales Engineer with Marposs Corporation introduced me to mid size business issues with an Italian based organization. My first trip to Italy whet my appetite for international travel and the global economy. After four years of technical sales, I accepted a Key Account Manager position with WW Grainger, a multi billion dollar industrial distribution company. This selling experience introduced me to a business process that focused on total cost of ownership. Grainger was a selling machine that concentrated on reducing transactional costs versus item price. My career in small business started due to the death of my father in 1996 and a need to reorganize our family business. The 23 year old industrial contracting company was started by my father and needed to be retooled and refocused. With total sales of $1.3M in the declining printing industry, I became President and took an equity position with two brothers. Egenolf Industrial Group was reorganized for the relocation of heavy machinery. The company was expanded to the machine tool, newspaper and heavy utility industries. After seven years, the sales were increased to $3.6M/yr with large projects like the installation of Gannett newspaper presses in Indianapolis, IN and Louisville, KY.Egenolf Industrial started a small distribution business with a German company. The roller chain and sprocket mfg needed a partner in the USA. While developing the US market, a large contract with John Deere was realized and the company was spun off to start iwis drive systems, LLC. I have served as President for 15 years.
