Deconstruction Assistant
CurrentIn my role, I specialize in and help supervise the removal and transportation of kitchens and other house fixtures (bathrooms, appliances, HVAC systems, water heaters, light fixtures, etc.) to Charlotte area ReStores to be sold in support of the mission of Habitat for Humanity of the Charlotte Region. I manage daily projects to ensure they are completed successfully and to the donor's and contractor's satisfaction. This includes the ordinary removal of donated items as well as dealing with problems when they arise. The ability to think quickly and at times creatively is paramount, especially when a customer's property is at stake. I also help coach less experienced team members to help them develop their skills and become invaluable members of our crew, increasing our department's productivity and thereby enabling us continually contribute more to the bottom line / mission of Habitat Charlotte.Skills: project management; verbal and written communication; donor/customer relations; timely project completion; site supervision; estimating project cost, scope, and viability; plumbing; electrical; carpentry; construction; driving (DOT certified); loading; equipment operation (forklift certification)
