The course of life is rarely straight, so detours to the destination are longer but full of new experiences. My professional career began with a qualified secondary school diploma. This gave me the opportunity to gain experience of responsibility, comradeship and discipline in the Bundeswehr as a non-commissioned officer without a rank. During my work as a transport sergeant, I developed the determination to pursue a university education. My preferences for sport and politics were to manifest themselves in the process. The master's certificate (Bachelor Professional) in motor transport opened up the option of matriculation without a school-leaving certificate. Before enrolment, there were 2 months of work and travel in New Zealand, an intensification of triathlon training and part-time experiences in between. The university chapter started in autumn 2018 at Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg, with the option of Political Science (120LP) and Sports Science (60LP) to deepen my interests. As I consider gaining professional experience essential, I realised working as a student assistant at the in-house university sports centre, with the tasks of public communication and social media. I was able to realise my sense of responsibility for society in my work for the FDP in general and in particular as an assessor of the Young Liberals Leipzig (2019 - 2021). My studies confirmed me in the assumption that political processes can be found everywhere and that they can be better shaped with the inclusion of expertise. In the start-up memoresa, I can now put the knowledge I gained during my studies into practice in the form of political consulting and interest articulation. It turns out that the goal is not the goal, but the way to get there. Thus, the goal of an academic degree is within reach (winter 2022). But it is not the end, but the beginning of a further career that goes beyond the Master's in Political Science. How will become clear along the way.
