As a platoon leader I have many responsibilities, to include but not limited to, supervising, soldier development, relaying important information about upcoming missions and keeping full accountability of my soldiers. I am also in charge of counseling my soldiers, whether that be for my expectations of them, positive reinforcement, or disciplinary actions. As a platoon leader I find it very rewarding to see the growth of my soldiers while also having the opportunity to mentor them during stressful situations involving search and extraction missions. On occasion I am tasked by my company commander to fill positions such as safety officer or the OIC ( Officer In Command) during our field operations. Which In turn is very educational and gives me the opportunity to further my skills as a leader.
