Main focus/task, fluid dynamics and heat transfer.The engineering tools used for simulations were AVL-FIRE, ANSYS FLUENT and STAR-CCM+Typical projects included: mixing of gases and liquids (phase change, uniformity of mixture), fluid flow and pressure drop, heat transfer (heating and cooling of engine components).The main application covered at Scania was the exhaust aftertreament system / flue gas treatment system. I worked with spray and fluid interactions covering :-Injector optimizations (No of injectors, cone angle, number of holes, droplet sizes).-Layouts of exhaust system for mixing properties and minimum pressure drop, focusing on both quality issues as well as performance of future systems.
