Hello, my name is Dan Epperson and I am running for district 2 supervisor. I have lived in Ione for 22 years and have an amazing wife and 4 great kids. I have two sons at home that attend Argonaut High School. My daughter graduated from Amador High School and is finished her master’s degree in Spanish at Sac State and substitute teaches for the Elk Grove School District. My oldest son writes computer code and is a graduate of Amador High School and George Fox University. I have pastored at King’s View Assembly of God since May of 2002. I am a certified Hunter Education Instructor with the Department of Fish and Wildlife and have instructed the Hunter Education course for 18 years here in Ione, instructing some 1,500 students in the region. Being a 20-year member of the Ione and Business Community Association, I was instrumental in getting the dog park established, the downtown light and sound project off the ground and installation of several of the historical plaques in downtown Ione. I am just one member of the dedicated group that continues to enhance what is good about Ione. Ione elected me to three terms as city councilman. During my twelve years serving on the Council I was elected to the position of mayor for an unprecedented five one-year terms by the council. I served twice as vice mayor and five years as a councilman. As a part the job I served on the Amador Transportation Commission, the Regional Transportation Mitigation Fee board and as a member of the recreation agency for twelve years. While on the council, I was on the warden’s select committee at the CDCR and sat on the Ione finance and budget committees as well as several others. Currently, I am serving on the NEXUS board and volunteer as a Chaplin with the Amador County Sheriff’s Office, and I coordinate the Sutter Amador Hospital Chaplains list.
