Global Inventory Operations Lead
In response to COVID-19 crisis, developed a daily tracker for inventory actuals. This Teradata, SQL-based solution consolidates nine tables (3 inventory, 2 purchase order, 1 delivery, 1 retail, 2 attribution) for performance management consumption. Backend logic replicates logic in multiple existing solutions that update on a monthly basis. Basic Alteryx workflow created to enable snapshotting of aggregated data.In partnership with Business Insights, developed a framework for identifying actionable early supply. Framework identifies supply that is at factory that is scheduled to ship within the immediate fiscal quarter but is not actually needed until the next fiscal quarter based on customer need date. Framework is built in Tableau and refreshed quarterly to support geography inventory operations team to manage supply in support of inventory targets.Product owner for inventory data ecosystem that generates inventory, sales, and shipments units for external reporting. Prioritization of tech team backlog that supports this data ecosystem. Act as liaison/interpreter between tech team and performance management team responsible for global inventory units reporting/tracking.Built a 3-5 year inventory model to inform inventory impacts of strategic corporate initiatives. Model incorporates revenue growth targets and strategic focus areas and projects baseline inventory for inputted assumptions.Created automation of metrics calculations for liquidation reporting that reduced process time by 50%. Automation built on Excel file that contains a live link to relevant Teradata database combined with dynamic calculations that generate metrics/KPIs directly linked to PowerPoint document.
Senior Inventory Planner
Inventory Planner - Nike, Inc.
I create buy plans for two categories in North America footwear through a variety of core processes. The goal is to match existing supply when possible and purchase according to demand when needed. Planning is SAP based with heavy Excel use. I have automated several processes using macros and a variety of Excel formulas.I also coordinate with demand planning to determine when it is appropriate to drop styles from the product line based on actual demand. I spend a decent amount of time building reports in Cognos to provide demand planning and sales with visibility to product as it moves from factory to final destination, cancellations from major accounts, and researching any anomalies that occur. A major highlight so far in this role is that I created an Excel-based optimization model using linear programming and the open-sourced engine OpenSolver to optimize an existing process that involves pulling inventory from stock to meet customer needs. The model essentially calculates an optimal subset of orders to use from a larger set to maximize the inventory being pulled. The model is exceptionally user-friendly -- copying and pasting the orders with size runs and the supply available into the model is the most difficult step for a user. The design allows users to force the model to consider individual sales orders if wanted, and to completely disregard other sales orders if wanted, allowing for rapid scenario modeling. The model also eliminates the need for users to perform manual calculations and eliminates any subjective bias in the analysis.
Consultant
Capstone Project for MS GSCM program at Portland State. Examined end-to-end supply chain of local cider company projecting 100% growth in 5 years. Identified fermentation capacity requirements, bottlenecks, capital projects to alleviate bottlenecks, 3PL for logistics and some production, storage - offsite/onsite, and new footprints. My main role was to develop a fermentation capacity model in Excel using the open-source addin OpenSolver. This maximization linear program incorporated postponement in the production process and was constrained by requirements of production. Many of these constraints (i.e. fermentation tanks, minimum production levels per product, etc.) could be user-set to enable scenario planning. The tool ultimately calculated the optimal fermentation bases for each fermentation tank based on desired production mixes/minimums per product.
Warehouse Coordinator
When my fiancé finished graduate school, I transferred to Portland with this company and did many of the same jobs I did at the Greensburg location. The highlight of my time here was completing a project in which I investigated Advance Shipment Notifications (ASN) to determine supplier process issues that resulted in ASN errors. This project was for a logistics course at Portland State but helped solve a very real problem at Owens & Minor.I examined the process from the point at which product was received and putaway in our facility, back to the point where it was selected and shipped to our facility. Different suppliers naturally presented different problems, and I created and implemented methods to mitigate lost labor due to those problems based on what was happening at the supplier's facility. These workarounds saved several labor hours daily in processing product from the worst offenders. The report I wrote for that project is attached to this profile.
