As a Lending Services Analyst, my job is mainly to underwrite loan applications, using data from credit reports and income statements to determine applicants' creditworthiness and ability to repay. Another major function of the job is to prepare sample loan data for audits and compile spreadsheets comparing interest rates for various loan products at First Source with those of local competitors.In mid-July I was pulled into the real estate department to assist as a home equity loan processor. This job consists of reviewing title searches, appraisals, and property tax status for home equity loan applications. Additionally, if loans are escrowed, I must ensure that payment schedules are accurately set up for property taxes and homeowners insurance. The job also entails calling members to review loan details and set up a closing date and time.

My primary function as an FSR II was loan origination. I originated applications for personal, auto, home equity, and business loans, as well as credit cards. The loan origination process consisted of gathering information from the member pertaining to their income, living expenses, and credit report, and then submitting the application to underwriting. If the application was approved, I would arrange a closing date and time at which point the member would meet me in the branch to sign documentation for the loan, and then the loan proceeds would be disbursed. (I was nominated for President’s Circle in 2020, an award for achieving at least 125% of sales goal in total dollar amount of loans sold throughout the year.)Additionally, I opened personal and business (e.g. DBA, Sole Proprietorship, LLC) accounts. Other duties included performing wire transfers, notarizing documents, answering various service-related questions, and working the front desk as needed.
