Highways testing - HAUC and Groundwork investigation coresAnalysing material samples taken from Roads and Footways collected in accordance to the Specification for the Reinstatement of Openings in Highways (SROH), MCHW V1 Specification of Highway works and associated British Standards (e.g. BS EN 12697). Methods include the measurement and description of the samples and Bulk and Max density testing for Air Voids Testing. Fully trained in the highways material examination and abide to all the technical specifications, procedures and processes. Responsible in the training of my colleagues in the core analysis and Air Voids training and also providing my expertise to help troubleshoot with my colleagues. - Aggregate testing Testing aggregate used in road surfacing (i.e. 6mm/10mm Chippings for surface dressing, GSB1, 6f4 and 6f5) and determine if they met specific criteria in accordance with British Standards in relation to its size, moisture content, flakiness index and type. Reviewed and improved the method for aggregate testing, which involved manual calculations and hand-written sheets. I created a spreadsheet to calculate the results and determine if the sample has passed or failed. This has reduced human error, saved time and make the process paperless.Closed Landfill - 6 sites across Lancashire- Gas and water (Leachate) monitoring.- Water sample collection- Leachate processing plant maintenance - working to reduce the contamination efficiently, monitoring levels of contaminants we are discharging to sewer and liaising with United Utilities. - Other general site maintenance.- Additional experience within Lancashire County Scientific Services including sample preparation for the food microbiology, water testing, dust monitoring analysis and radiation.
