VirtualFestivals.com is an online magazine and listings website that concentrates predominately on music festivals in the UK and Europe, but also around the world. The site is updated daily with news, interviews, blogs and reviews, including features, photography and video content.My responsibilities as Editor-in-Chief included:- Accountability for the voice and outlook of Virtual Festivals, including social media.- Incorporating visitor statistics from Google Analytics and social media into a weekly dissection of the website's performance, determining optimum times for copy delivery and allowing the development and implementation of strategies to increase readership, content quality and user experience. - Sub-editing all work before publication, including improving search engine optimisation.- Writing and commissioning news, features, blogs, interviews and reviews.- Managing input from over 300 journalists, photographers and film crews.- Experience with proprietary and open source content management systems including Mura CMS and WordPress.- Formatting of content within CMS systems with HTML and CSS.- Producing and commissioning written features and reviews for the Daily Telegraph, the Metro, Daily Express, the Mirror and the BBC festivals websites, adhering to differing editorial guidelines.
