I am currently an Associate Professor in the Economics Department at Radford University. I have worked in higher education since 2003, but started as a full time professor in 2009. My central research interests are in artificial social simulation with applications to economic dynamics, social systems, macroeconomics, labor economics and the evolution of economic behaviors. I have done work using standard economic theory, notably DSGE modeling. In addition, I have completed several standard empirical studies related to international trade, entrepreneurship, business cycles, culturomics, health, consumer spending and environmental management. Instead of focusing on a single sub-field of economics, I spend my time mastering a set of innovative analytical tools which I then use to study a large variety of problems/issues.
