I’ve done many things for a living over the years. From working with racehorses to managing major supermarkets in my youth. I went on to become a top tier violin restorer for over 20 years. I returned to school in my 40s and earned a BS in Molecular Biology. From there I worked briefly in cancer research but decided it wasn’t something I wanted to pursue as a permanent career. I spent a few years working as a fly fishing guide in New York and Vermont and then returned to restoring musical instruments until I decided to retire at 60 and start a small hobby farm growing organic vegetables. My son joined the farm in my second year and together we built the business into a highly successful six figure microfarm. After the 2018 Farm Bill descheduled hemp as a controlled substance we began to grow a variety of hemp that produced CBD for medicinal purposes. When N.Y. legalized adult recreational use of marijuana, CBD growers were the first cultivators allowed to be licensed. We applied for a conditional license and were approved in the spring of 2022. We now have four years of experience growing cannabis at scale and consider ourselves to be expert growers at this point. We grow both in the field and in greenhouses, growing both bulk biomass for cannabinoid extraction as well as the highest quality smokable cannabis flower. We source the best genetics we can find, growing strains outside of the mainstream offerings. Most are very high in potency while offering unique smell, taste and effect profiles, like our 1:1 THC-CBD strain that boasts over 30% total cannabinoids and provides great relief for pain and anxiety. We are transitioning to a fully vertically integrated microbusiness in December at which point we will be allowed to grow, process and sell directly to consumers. We are working on developing a full product line for retail as well as doing small batch processing for small operations. We also plan on hosting several cannabis events every year as our license will allow us to do.
