Created an internal coaching certification program. Facilitated clinics that provided tools for staff to lead successful running and triathlon programs. A philosophy built on team atmosphere, social interaction, networking and community involvement distinguished it from other programs.In July 2007, "Runners' World" magazine selected me as one of the Super Coaches for my work with marathon runners. As Executive Director, I was responsible for race operations, sponsorships, community outreach, marketing and promotion of all events throughout the year. Managed a $1.4 million budget, which included increasing sponsorships by 250%. Built strong relationships with community leaders, media, vendors, running clubs and race management peers. Oversaw marketing initiatives including website design, logo branding, online registration, and our award-winning health expo.In addition to managing a full-time staff, I worked with a board of directors, chaired a volunteer race committee, gave direction to 250 volunteers who worked throughout the year and an additional 2,000 volunteers on race weekend. Each year "Runners World" magazine recognized the TCM with the "Best Organized Marathon" award.Marathon participation grew from 7,500 finishers to 10,000. Race weekend included an additional 10,000 participants in our TC10 Miler and a Family Day that included events for all ages.
